2008-2009 RETENTION AND TRANSFER SUBCOMMITTEE
Charge to the University Retention and Transfer Subcommittee:
The subcommittee shall review each proposal for the establishment of more restrictive academic requirements for entrance into a college, major or minor or retention within a program and forward its recommendation to the Senate Committee on Curricular Affairs (SCCA). Decision on the requests for programs for more restrictive requirement will be based on adherence to the general guidelines on acceptable criteria for selection of students and on data provided by the program which demonstrate how the more restrictive requirements relate to the student's ability to meet the future course requirements.
The subcommittee shall also review and recommend to SCCA the academic criteria and procedures used in implementing administrative controls on entrance to a college, major or minor where enrollment ceilings have been established for non-academic reasons.
The subcommittee shall monitor and periodically report to SCCA on all restrictive requirements and the merit for their continuation, using data requested from, and furnished by, the colleges or programs for which special restrictions have been approved.
