Senate Committee on

Duties
The Committee on Outreach will recommend policy and advise the University on outreach activities. Outreach is understood as the exchange of information between the University and its many external audiences. The Committee shall be responsible for identifying University outreach, establishing evaluation methodologies to ensure quality, and creating recognition measures to reward outstanding performance. Its responsibilities focus on the University’s outreach and public scholarship mission as realized through community engagement, research, credit and noncredit instruction, service through continuing and distance education, cooperative extension, public broadcasting, and other programs beyond the sphere of resident education.  Liaison will be maintained with the Senate Committee on Undergraduate Education, the University Council on Engagement, and other bodies as appropriate.

At all committee meetings:
  • Visitors are always welcome to attend but available seating is limited;
  • Visitors who would like to address the Committee should contact the Chair in advance of the meeting date; and
  • Any attachments that are not posted with the meeting Agenda can be obtained in hard copy from either the Faculty Senate Office or the Committee Chair.
